Giving back, one cookie at a time 🍪
I’m grateful to have found my way into the Fedora community — not just contributing, but also giving back by welcoming newcomers, sharing helpful resources, and answering questions. There are even tokens for that… I’ve earned 8 cookies 🍪 so far (and counting)! 😊
Working with Joseph
When I organized the Fedora event at Murang’a University of Technology, Joseph and I teamed up to ensure our efforts were seen and celebrated across the community. I created a detailed Google Doc with structured event highlights and promotional copy — this was used as the base for our social media campaigns.
Joseph played a huge role in refining the messaging and helping push these updates live on various platforms, including Fedora’s official Mastodon account
📝 Here’s a sample of the collaborative event recap we worked on: Fedora outreach posts
This wasn’t just a content push — it was community storytelling in action. Our collaboration helped frame the event in a way that showcased not just what happened, but why it mattered. That kind of messaging uplifts regional efforts and brings visibility to diverse contributors.
Through working with other team members, I learned how aligned efforts can multiply impact. Fedora didn’t just hear about the event — they felt its value.
